7a Johnstone Street, Waipara, North Canterbury 7447

From the moment you arrive you will be drawn into the relaxed friendly style of your real Kiwi hosts, Geoff & Barb Taylor. Their house is older style construction with lots of Rimu wood paneling and polished floors. Good size rooms with modern ensuite bathrooms and king beds ensure you have a good nights rest.

Barb is a qualified chef and Geoff has been very well trained in the kitchen so providing you with a tasty kiwi styled evening meal is no effort and we will provide you with a glass of our local Waipara Valley wine to complete the experience.

On a warm evening you can choose to sit out in the lovely outdoor courtyard and soak up the outstanding country atmospher and then enjoy sitting around the brazier fire and watch the amazing night sky come alive.

Being situated in Waipara Barbs Place is about 1 hour from Christchurch Airport and has been safe from all earthquakes to date. Situated amongst some fabulous wineries that are open daily for lunches and tastings and only a short drive to the thermal pools at Hanmer or whale watch at Kaikoura.

The Weka Pass vintage steam train which runs 1st and 3rd Sundays each month and all holidays. It offers the opportunity to travel the 14Kms through the pass, have lunch at the picturest town of Waikari and return in the afternoon, photo shots of the train doing a 'drive by' is also a highlight.
